Day by Day Itinerary Outline

Arrive in Kathmandu International Airport, you will be met and chauffeured to your hotel.

  • Our travelers have the option of a hike (3-hours) from Phaplu to Junbesi or to take a chartered jeep.
  • Travelers also have the option to remain in Phaplu on Day 2.
  • Overnight Elevation: 8,900 ft.

After breakfast, begin a steady ascent to Thuptencholing Monastery. One of the most significant monasteries of the region. Established by Thrulsik Rimpoche after his escape from Tibet in the 1950’s. Thrulsik Rimpoche is a highly regarded monk and is a teacher of the Dalai Lama.

At the monastery complex travelers can choose to attend a prayer ceremony and have lunch with the monks and nuns before returning back to Junbesi. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon or hike to another nearby monastery or visit the local school.

Begin the trek after breakfast challenging yourself to an ascent over to the Solu river valley before the final steep switch-backs start easing-out.

There’s also a chance of spotting some wildlife and rare birds along the Solu river valley. Feel inspired as you ascend over a small pass through a canopy of Himalayan oak and Rhododendron forests before descending into the small Sherpa village of Loding. Pace yourself to ascend a little over 3,000 feet early this morning. October is one of the best months for trekking in Nepal, soon after the monsoon rejuvenates the eco-system, for some of the best views of the mighty Himalayan ranges.

The trail follows a recently built jeep track to Upper Loding before entering a thick Rhododendron/Pine forest that soon leads to steep switch-backs all the way to Jase Bhanjyang – saddled in between two hill-tops. Spend the night in a tented camp.

Everest, Makalu and Kanchenjunga peaks. A panorama of the greatest mountain ranges of the world can be a true life-changing moment for some!

Everest and Makalu over the village of Ringmo and Takshindu within bird-eye view of the valley of Phaplu and it’s little air-strip. After lunch at Ringmo, take a local chartered-jeep with your guides for an hour-long bumpy-ride back to Phaplu.

  • Overnight Elevation: 8,400 ft.
  • Average Trekking Time: 5-hours.

Board a short-flight back to Kathmandu and spend the day reflecting and honoring your experiences in Nepal. Take the opportunity to catch-up on laundry but avoid using technology. Enjoy the evening soaking-in the vibe of Kathmandu that offers a different perceptive into the lens of every-day-life. This journey can leave you feeling inspired to bring some of those insights back into every-day-life. Hence offering more substance through meaningful travel.

Say goodbye to your hosts and embark on your adventure back home. Your airpot transfer will be organized by your hosts. Upon arrival back home – schedule your post-journey reflection-session with Transformative Travel LLC.
