Zach has guided fly fishing and whitewater rafting around the world throughout the past 20 years. In his free time, he has volunteered with various river organizations, studied plant medicine in the Amazon and thrown flies at some of the most ferocious fish on earth.
While recovering from an injury in 2017, he taught himself to paint, and has since studied with a traditional jungle painter in the Amazon and a Japanese sumi-e (ink painting) master.
“I did not attend art school, and in fact, I never even considered painting until a few years ago. What I paint comes from a lifetime spent on the water and from my love of these animals and places.”
