Anglers, please note that the windows of opportunity for fly fishing in the Maldives can be very tight for species such as GT, bonefish, as sometimes the wind can play nasty, depending on the time of the year. Therefore, January, February, and March are some of the best months of the year for fly fishing in the Maldives.
Update on Negative PCR test for Covid-19 requirement on Arrival
To ensure the safety of all, the Health Protection Agency of Maldives has made it a mandatory requirement for all tourists (including those who have completed the prescribed dose(s) of a Covid-19 vaccine) to present a negative result for a Nucleic Acid Test (PCR test) for Covid-19 on arrival effective 03rd May 2021. The sample for said PCR test must be taken not more than 96 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure from the first port of embarkation en-route to the Maldives.
Arrive at Malé (MLE), the capital, where over a third of the Maldivian population lives. You will be met at Malé airport and board a 60-minute, seaplane charter (shared) to COMO Maalifushi. Do plan arriving into Male, Maldives in the morning by Qatar or Emirates. Though your return flight should be scheduled for departure in the evening. Please note that our seaplanes operate from 6am to 6pm, but last flight to COMO Maalifushi is generally 3-4pm, hence plan accordingly.

COMO Maalifushi is the only resort to open in the Maldives’ Thaa Atoll. From December to April anglers can explore the expansive, un-spoilt flats-fishing across the atoll, where there is an array of species including bonefish, bluefin, reef, and giant trevally, yellow margin, and titan triggerfish.

In addition, it is also host to great snorkeling, diving, and even surfing making the best of both worlds. In addition to great service and Maalifushi also offers world-class wellness amenities, indigenous architecture that features over-water suites & villas while the beach suites benefit from being set in a grove of tropical plantation in the island’s heart. In addition, eight double treatment pavilions are set over the water, with doors that open wide so you can relax on a massage beds, oversized bathtubs and the sound of the Indian Ocean. Steam, sauna, and Jacuzzi are also set in designated areas, as well as an open-air yoga pavilion located on the sunrise side of the island, with views of the Indian Ocean.
Breakfast and dinner are included with accommodation either on the water or in one of our ideally set and private beach suites.
Depart via a 60-minute Sea Plane back to Malé airport after a leisurely breakfast that is included in your package. We recommend that your return flight should be scheduled for departure in the evening.
