Take 2 nights to “get off the grid” and fully experience a self-sustaining lifestyle via paddling and camping on wild islands along the Shenandoah River.
Moreover, our 2-night, self-contained river expedition teaches you basic river running skills. Negotiating class 1 rapids, while exploring the Shenandoah valley.
Campsites will be made (sometimes with the use of a machete) on wild islands surrounded by Shenandoah waters. Work as a team to create “camp”, including cooking, setting up your own personal tents, bathroom tents (equipped with dry pit toilets), and solar shower tents, under the guidance of an expert.
End the day on a river island around a small fire, watching the reflection of the glorious sunset shimmer over flowing waters and infinite sky.
Meet your host Misty Dhillon with over 20 years of experience as an expedition leader. Misty ran his own expedition company in the Himalayan foothills for 15 years. In addition to being an FFI certified fly casting instructor, river runner, he is also a good cook, a charismatic character and a great host.
Misty’s aim is to teach you the skills it takes to set up a river adventure safely and easily, so you can do it yourself.
