Apart from the majestic Himalayas, Nepal’s prolific Terai foothills mark the nation’s south western border with it’s neighbor, India.
These foothills subsequently consist of tall grasslands, scrub savannah, Sal forests and clay rich swamps. Hence supporting wildlife such as the iconic Bengal Tiger, one horned Rhino and the asiatic Elephant to name a few. In addition, these foothills are the head-waters of Nepal’s mighty Karnali river that is home to some of the best Golden Mahseer fishing in Nepal.
Our 10-day Golden Mahseer fishing adventure starts by arriving in Kathmandu before flying south west to the Royal Bardiya National Park.
